The next Ciclavia promises to be one for the books. Ciclavia is LA’s largest open streets event, that has been going on for 6 years now. Every few months a different part of the city is chosen, streets are closed to auto traffic, and LA gets out and about on bikes, roller blades, tall bikes, unicycles, skateboards or just plane old kick sticks.

The atmosphere is so refreshingly convivial, released from our metal cages, everyone is enjoying car free streets, seeing the city and our fellow Angelenos from a different perspective. If you’ve never been, go! you won’t be disappointed. September 30th promises to be a special one, because Ciclavia is helping the LA Phil celebrate their 100th birthday by charting a route that goes between Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl.

My pro-tip for Ciclavia is to invite as many friends as possible, choose several meet spots and times along the route because herding cyclists is like herding cats, trust me, I know. This route has lots of entertainment planned, make the stages your mid ride meet spot. Pick a good gather spot for morning coffee, and an after meet up for celebratory beers. Might I suggest our home, Grand Central Market, it full fills pre and post ride requirements, and you can scoot up to Grand Avenue’s start via Grand Park. See you there! We are closed 9/30/18.
