Our Pretty Gritty Arts District tour is gaining in popularity. This quirky neighborhood is home to new industry, excellent restaurants, fine art, murals and street art. Many original tenants are being displaced as the neighborhood gentrifies, but there are a few people trying to preserve a place for working artists in the Arts District. Many pioneering residents have been able to benefit financially from the changes. A new bridge, park land and residences are turning this once industrial neighborhood into a residential and cultural destination.

New Arts District Tour times

Several big industry players are locating in the Arts District, but it is still very much warehouses, shipping and trucking. Which is why we limit our Arts District tours to weekends, but his summer we are opening up a weekday afternoon Arts District tour, as the neighborhood has reached a point where we feel comfortable leading tours on the weekdays here.

Next head over to Art Share LA, with a free gallery maintained by the 30 subsidized artists who reside here. Then cross 4th street, to the Arts District Co-Op, and The Container Yard, walk this block full of murals and check out the shops in both locations selling textiles made by artists living in the Arts District.
